Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: How
much does an average home inspection cost?
A: A typical home inspection starts from $225.00
for a home built less than 15 years ago and less than 1,500 total
square feet. A crawl space or an increase in house size
will increase the cost of the inspection. Age and location
of the house can also affect the cost of the inspection. Please
feel free to call us with additional questions.
Q: How
long does an average home inspection take to complete?
A: An average 1,500 square foot home will take
3-4 hours, depending upon the maintenance level the home has had
in the past.
Q: What
type of reporting format does Lexington Home Inspections
provide?
A: The report is a narrative/outline style and type-written.
Q: Am
I invited to attend the inspection?
A: You are welcome to observe the process; however,
we cannot interact with you about the findings during an inspection.
There are so many details we have to pay attention to during an
inspection. It is strongly recommended that you come after
the inspection is completed, so we can explain the condition comprehensively
and make suggestions and recommendations based on all findings.
It may take anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour.
Q: Is
cheaper better?
A: The old saying "you get what you pay
for" is applicable to home inspectors too. A thorough,
well-written report pays for itself. |
